A Lovely Sunset to Round Off The Day

It was getting late as we arrived back at the Aire from our cycle ride, the sun setting over the lake, so we peddled out to the end of the jetty to take it in. A very impressive sunset it was too.

  1. You two are going to be as fit as butchers dogs when you get back! Bearing in mind this is what I am aiming for with Rob, how good do the bikes have to be in order to take on the routes you have been cycling?

    1. The bike quality is not too much of an issue. We have reasonable quality bikes because the cycling is important to me. For less arduous day rides a Bickerton would be ideal as it take so much less storage. Also, older bikes will mean you won’t worry so mic about hanging them off the back of the van and getting them nicked (which can be made harder by locking and alarming them).

Bike quality is usually about making the ride easier, but if you want to stay fit, find one with an anchor!

      1. Thanks that’s useful information – we have two bikes one has all the gears on it (from henceforth to be known as MY bike) and a knackered old thing (now known as Rob’s bike) – so all I have to do is find an anchor or a bungee rope and tie it to the van!

Your latest photo looks beautiful, I am just about to light a fire at home as it is nearly dark (only 3.30 in the afternoon), it’s cold, damp and downright miserable.

  2. Wow! Stunning sunset! Glad to see you’re having fun…
