Galway

So we be spent the day in Galway, first at the Cupan Tae cafe (yes, really), which is well worth the visit. We were up and away early from our overnight stop as we were parked on a quay that at first light, soon became busy. So an early coffee was needed, and the cakes were irresistible.

Galway centre is slightly overrun by chains and independents that are just peddling tourist tat. We stumbled upon ‘The Dough Bros’ pizzeria for lunch which looked interesting, and they were sporting awards from this year for best eatery. However, the service was lax and pizza unremarkable. So much for awards.

However there was a sense of humour about the town, and this board outside one restaurant seemed particularly apt.
