I Don’t Know Why I Bother

Well, some small success today – we did some washing! The washing machines were working, and given that it was a sunny though blustery day, we thought we might get some done and try to dry it. The washing was successful, but despite the wind getting into a right hullabaloo at times, most things refused to dry completely. So they are now hung up in the garage, which the heating keeps nice and warm, in the vain hope that they might be dry sometime soon.

I tried in vain to do some work, which all turned into a rather pointless exercise, so I think I might have to give that up completely. I tried to download a new WordPress theme for Mel’s website, but that turned out to be a frustrating exercise due to the slightly flaky wifi here on the campsite. Michael was good enough to help me out with some alternative strategies, but alas that turned into yet another can of worms that I’m not sure I have the patience for!

So I think I’m giving it all up as a bad job.

We are now trying to decide what or rather where we might like to be for Christmas. Only a week to go, and so if we want to be in warmer climbs, we need to get our skates on, but apathy is a wonderful thing! I think another day here to get a few things done, and then we’ll have to move the van in order to top up with LPG. The weather isn’t quite what we planned – its dry and sunny, but only about 8 degrees and this evening its decided to blow up a bit of a stinker, so the van is rocking gently giving the impression that we might be in a boat. The forecast promises warmer weather in the next couple of days, but I think if we are going to, we need to set off for the south.

I think I’d prefer to be somewhere that inspires me to get out on the bike, so that I don’t need to think about the work side of things. That is just proving far to frustrating at the moment. And this was meant to be about getting away from the technology for a bit to get a better perspective on things!
