Longnor Wood, Butterton Moor, Warslow

A much better day, full on shorts and T-shirt, balmy summers day, a real contrast to yesterday’s grey. A different direction for today’s walk heading southwest towards Butterton Moor. Our destination was the be the Mermaid pub, which we past whilst leaving on the last trip and thought the views spectacular. We may have berm wrong about the location, and we’re disappointed to find it no longer a pub. Didn’t look like a recent change, and the view not quite as we remembered so perhaps we are wrong about the location. Mel seemed to think if wax called The Angel so will have to go so some homework.

Still, an extremely pleasant 11 miles, saved by raiding the farm shop in Warslow or we’d have been a little light on provisions.

On getting back to camp we decided to relocate to Hope as it’s on the railway line into Manchester which is where Mel needs to be from Thursday. Hopefully the weather will hold for another walk or cycle on Wednesday.
