Stiperstones

A late start for a walk, but we got out after an early lunch. The hills took their toll yesterday, proof that I’ve not been doing enough of them so far this year. Too many canal walks!

Under threatening skies we headed up along the Stiperstones ridge and clambered to the summit and cling to the trig point. Lovely far reaching views across the Shropshire hills.

We made a refreshment stop at Habberly in the Myton Arms. Plenty of pubs still open all day around here. A good few locals enjoying and after work long or two. And the odd walker taking shelter from the rain. We nearly stayed for a second as the rain persisted, but decided getting on with it would be a better bet, and the rain soon stopped.

We stopped again at the Stipperstones Inn for a couple of well earned pints and supper. Although the beer was both brain bending and leg melting, it was a good job we only had a mile left to get back to the van.
