A long but fun day, sunshine and a cooling breeze, and lots of excuses to stop for a rest. We walked a couple of miles from the campsite to Moreton-in-Marsh, where there was time for a coffee whilst waiting for the bus. A 40 minute bus ride back to Northleach, and then off across the countryside, first stop Bourton-on-the-Water for a lunch which turned out to be larger than expected, but time for some people watching.
Onwards through the pretty village of Lower Slaughter, and then into Stow-on-the-Wold, what better time to stop for a cream tea!
The final stretch was somewhat circuitous, crossing the railway line twice, but back into Moreton for 7pm and a darn good excuse to stop at the pub for a couple of well earned sherbets. That final stagger back to the campsite made all the more entertaining. Supper, and time for bed. 22 miles, but a great day.
