An unexpected but very welcome invitation by Andrew and Isabelle to join them for a cycle ride this afternoon. The day could easily have been spent taking down Christmas decorations, but a plan was quickly hatched and we popped the bikes into the back of the car for the short trip to Oake as the starting point. This has the advantage of cutting out the hillier sections around Wiveliscombe and makes for a more pleasant meander along the National Cycle Route 3 towards Taunton, parts of the Taunton Trail to take you back out to Bishops Lydeard (where a cup of coffee was found at the Lethbridge Arms), followed by some quite but muddy lanes back to Oake.
