The eighth and final day of this walking trip, a leg of about 13 miles taking us to the small fishing port of Clovelly (although we didn’t pay to enter the village and wander round). A mixture of terrain from step climbs through inlets, through woodland and across fields, we finally met up with Mel at Hartland Point and all took the time to celebrate with a couple of pints over a meal.
I’ve so thoroughly enjoyed the walk, the weather could not have been kinder, the company along the way with friends old and new has been just fabulous. I’m going to find it hard to adjust to life back in the van, I’m itching to go for another walk.
I picked up an annoying blister in the last couple of days which meant I then got a really stiff leg muscle from trying not to walk too hard on it, but it will all mend. I also didn’t sleep as well as I would have liked in the tent which meant I was not quite on top form over the last couple of days. Will need on how to improve tent comfort for future journeys without increasing weight!
