Very interesting to read about your ride as I grew up on the Quantocks, I could picture your travels in my mind as I read your report, as I had been to all of those places many times years ago.
There is a good book about life in this area (Fiction) called “The Ladt Broomsquire” by Martin Hesp, Mr Walford is one of the main persons in the story, worth a read if your interested.
