Amanda’s Walk Day 8

Sunday, traditionally is a day of rest. And so it was for us. A day to rest weary feet and take a load off.

We meandered around Bourton-on-the-Water, mostly trying to avoid the great unwashed making the place look untidy. The Dial House Hotel seemed like a place to get far from the madding crowd, but turned out to be more maddening by slow and incompetent service, but we made the most of the entertainment.

Neil set off back to Somerset early afternoon, and Mel, Amanda and myself set off for our next campsite at Lemington Lakes, just outside Moreton-in-Marsh. A lovely summers day, well kept fishing lakes and nearly cut grass beckoned us to lay about in the sunshine, read the Sunday papers, and polish off a bottle of wine.

A thoroughly relaxing day, well earned for one of us at least, and tomorrow we three musketeers are once more into the fray. With a repeat visit to Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and ending at Moreton-in-Marsh, we’ll be thoroughly hyphenated by the end of the day.
