A particularly slow start this morning, but I think we both knew that we were not heading off anywhere else today. I spent the morning sorting out an automated backup for my MySQL databases that provide content for my various web clients, and Mel took advantage of the mild weather to get some Jesmonite onto the various wireframes made over the last couple of weeks. I also got outside and fixed the broken spoke, and then we went for a late afternoon cycle to stretch the legs and make sure the spokes were happy.
With light fading and patisseries on board, Mel had a close shave with some twat of a French motorist (or should that be ‘twât’) who overtook us both whilst we were turning left, despite the fact both of us were indicating. One thing I’ve noticed in the south of France – the motorists are not so nearly as accommodating as those in the north.
Anyway, we are a couple of miles from the Canal du Midi, so intend to take a ride along that in the next day or so into Carcassonne for a bit of a look around.
When we did get back safely to the campsite, we went to pay for the additional nights, and managed to get a tasting of Monsueirs fine wines and meaty spreads. We purchased some of each to enjoy over the next few days. Yum!
