Thankfully an easier and more pleasant day today, the forecast thunderstorms didn’t materialise. Although it did cloud up a bit in the afternoon.
We changed the route, cutting more directly to Cirencester rather than detouring back to the Fosse Way, and walked through some pleasant little hamlets and villages along the way.
As we approached Ewen, Amanda ‘phoned a friend’, knowing that her parents were from there, and ended up making contact with her sister Caroline, and stopped for a cup of tea. She then very kindly offered to give us a lift back from Cirencester to Malmesbury as we would be arriving too late for the last bus and would need to get a taxi. So that worked out exceedingly well!
