We’ve headed back the east coast in expectation of wet weather and were planning on a day in Perth or Dundee. I’m the end, Friday turned into a nice day, and whilst Mel wanted to head into town, I needed to stretch my legs after being cooped up for a day.
I dropped Mel at the park and ride on the edge of Perth, then headed towards the nearest hills. I struggled to find anywhere to park at the foot of the hills and had to head into Glen Almond before I could find a picnic area. Unfortunately this only had a footpath leading west through the glen, and I wanted to get up into the sunshine, so I made off across a field and uphill. The going was slow, cross crossing through the heather following sheep tracks until I got to the summit. The wind was biting at the top, but a lovely clear view back across Perthshire.
In the end only a few miles, but a good climb too, certainly got the legs working again.
