Couldn’t make our minds up today. Do we go to the Peak District as planned, or explore Shropshire which we don’t know very well at all. Would love to go back to the Peaks, but new places to explore are always fun, and well, we were really not that far away. So, tempted by Ironbridge and an alleged exhibition of steel sculptures, we headed for Ironbridge.
Whilst we could have walked extensively, we got the ball rolling with coffee and cake, and mooching around some shops and exhibitions, learning more about what makes Ironbridge famous. Not just nationally, but internationally – it’s a World Heritage Site.
So that pretty much filled the day, and en all that was required was finding a campsite, and in the end we plumped for a CL near Stiperstones, an area of the Shropshire hills that looks to have some good walking opportunities, so that’s the plan for tomorrow. Onwards and upwards as they say!
